Mission

The Centre for Democratic Development and Training is established to promote and advance scientific research and training for the purpose of providing immediate and long-term solutions to the problems of the democratic, community, and national, development of the people of Nigeria, the rest of Africa and the African Diaspora.

i. to conduct problem-oriented, and policy-related, scientific research, into the process of community and national development, in order to build self-reliance, and the ability of the people to promote and defend their national and democratic rights and their human dignity;
ii. to conduct training, for all sections of the population, particularly political activists, political leaders and policy makers, including community leaders, political party organizers, trade unionists, local government chairpersons and councilors, and state and national legislators and executives, in order to enhance their knowledge, improve their skills, develop their commitment to democratic, community, and national development, and their capacity to successfully pursue it;
iii. to identify, collect, recover and preserve, comprehensive, accurate and relevant data, and secondary and primary research material on all aspects of community and national development, for the use of its staff, trainees, associates and approved researchers;
iv. to publish, on a regular basis, research bulletins, pamphlets, books, maps, drawings, journals, magazines and produce radio, television and computer programmes, for the purpose of disseminating the results of its research activities, and public lectures, workshops, seminars, and conferences, it shall conduct and organize on current issues of community and national development;
v. to employ, obtain right to land, operate accounts, construct and operate offices, libraries, conference rooms, class t rooms, radio and television stations, printing presses, publishing houses, bookshops, video-shops, residences, laboratories; use equipment, and carry out all other activities in the pursuit of its aims and objectives;

to raise funds through private and public contributions and through investment and activities.
